Specialty: Biblical Studies and Ethics

Short Biography
Professor Grams has been an international theological educator since the 1980s. He grew up in South Africa, where his parents and grandparents were missionaries, and he has lived and taught in Kenya, Ethiopia, Croatia, England, and the United States of America. His passion in teaching is to see graduates faithful to God, fully equipped for service in the Church with a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Scriptures, honouring Christ, and filled with the Holy Spirit. He promotes what he calls ‘tradition enquiry’ in all theological subjects, that is, an understanding of and submission to Biblical teaching and a guidance from the Church’s rich history and orthodox teaching. His expertise in Biblical studies includes working with Ancient Near Eastern, Greek, Roman, and early Christian primary sources. He is especially interested in ethical subjects in Scripture and its context. He served as the Professor of Biblical Theology and Ethics at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary before joining OCRPL. His wife, also from South Africa, is engaged in women’s and prayer ministries. They have three children and five grandchildren.
