During the recent Stellenbosch DPhil research and methodologies seminar, Professor Patrick Sookhdeo presented a paper on his research methodologies. This paper outlines his approach to research, information, and teaching, and then focuses on two key stages of research: locating and testing the source of information, and then analysing the information.

Vinay Samuel and Chris Sugden on Tuesday June 18, the Governing Body of Murray Edwards College Cambridge met to consider the findings of the Charity Commission into allegations of misconduct by Oxfam’s staff involved in its humanitarian response in Haiti 2011. ‘Left’ and ‘right’ political and economic categories cannot be applied to the bible’s economic understanding, and are of little use in addressing society.  So concluded a seminar in Campion Hall Oxford on January 16th where biblical scholars and professionals in law and business examined “The Social and Economic Teaching of the Hebrew Scriptures”.

GOSPEL MUSIC & MORAL FORMATION

The powerful soul singer will undoubtedly go down in music history. Influenced and inspired by gospel music, Franklin grew up in church. Her father was the minister at New Bethel Baptist Church and this was where Franklin found her God-given gift of singing. This was very important to Franklin so even as she began to develop as an artist, she maintained her gospel roots and influence and never forgot her faith.
